Abstract

Ioannis Christophi of Afania, a teacher at the Urban School of Ayios Dometios testified to the court that: on May 26, 1956 he went to his village. He was asleep and awaken by shouts and saw his uncle Gavriel Ioannou who was injured by the Turks. He then drove his uncle and seven other injured to the Lysi/Akdoğan hospital, and from there to the private practise of Dr Charalambos Demetriou Kouta in Kontea/Türkmenköy. There, he saw the accused (Christophi) and two other co-villagers of theirs. At 10:30pm he and accused drove a heavily injured person to the Varosha hospital, and then returned to Afania.
