Abstract
Ali Çavuş, a Turk who has fought against the Greeks during the Turkish War of Independence, has requested from the Turkish Prime Minister, Adnan Menderes, permission to lead an expeditionary force to Cyprus. He vowed to kill more Greeks than he had killed in Asia Minor and to take hold of the whole island.
