Εξαιτίας των Τουρκικών βιαιοτήτων, ο Δήμαρχος της Λευκωσίας έστειλε επιστολή στον Sir Hugh Foot. Σύμφωνα με την επιστολή, οι Τουρκικές βιαιότητες ήταν σχεδιασμένες και παρουσιάζουν πιστό αντίγραφο της βόμβας στην Θεσσαλονίκη το 1955. Due to the Turkish brutalities, the Mayor of Nicosia sent a letter to Sir Hugh Foot. According to the letter, the Turkish brutalities were designed and planned and they present itself a continuation of the bombing in Thessaloniki in 1955. The Turkish auxiliary police should be seized immediately because, although, the church bells tolled for long, they failed to take the necessary measures. The letter also leaves a hint of might being instigated by the government or the latter to ordered the police not to do anything.
